Community Outreach
In the Fall of 2022 I proposed an experiment to my local church. I proposed that we put together a full symphony orchestra for the community at the 1,500 people capacity performing arts center in the local high school. The church got on board and paid for the venue and advertising. I started recruiting volunteer musicians from around the Tulsa area and Oklahoma. I ended up with 72 volunteer musicians from 5 different states. We had almost 1,000 people in attendance.
Musicians from all walks of life, age groups, and faith persuasion (or no faith at all) came together to share Jesus with the community and bring joy during the Christmas season. All were blessed to listen to excerpts from the Desire of Ages and several sacred Christmas hymns put into magnificent arrangements.
